What to See & Do

Giant Panda Base

See giant pandas up close — babies, juveniles, and adults in semi-natural habitats. Arrive at 8am opening for feeding time. About 45 minutes from city center.

Hot Pot

Sichuan hot pot is a communal ritual. Boiling chili oil, 40+ ingredients, beer, friends. Haidilao for service, Xiaolongkan for authenticity, or ask us for the local spots tourists never find.

Jinli Ancient Street

Qing Dynasty-style walking street. Great for evening strolls, snacks, and souvenirs. Touristy but atmospheric.

Leshan Giant Buddha (Day Trip)

71-meter Buddha carved into a cliff face — the largest stone Buddha in the world. 2-hour drive or train from Chengdu. Combine with Emeishan for a full day.

What to Eat

🍜 Sichuan hot pot ($8-15/person) · Mapo tofu ($3) · Dan dan noodles ($2) · Kung Pao chicken ($4) · Rabbit head (the local delicacy — adventurous eaters only, $2)

Prices are approximate. ChinaWithEase clients receive a curated restaurant list with our top local picks for every meal.
