What to See & Do

Ice and Snow Festival

The world's largest ice festival (January-February). Full-scale ice castles, cathedrals, and slides. Bring your warmest gear — it's -20°C to -35°C. Nothing else like it on earth.

Saint Sophia Cathedral

A stunning Russian Orthodox cathedral in the city center — now a museum. Harbin's most iconic building, reflecting its Russian colonial history.

Central Street (Zhongyang Dajie)

A 1.4km pedestrian boulevard lined with Russian and European architecture. Ice cream in winter (yes, at -30°C — it's tradition), cafes, and Russian bakeries.

Siberian Tiger Park

See Siberian tigers in large enclosures. Controversial but educational. Largest Siberian tiger breeding center in the world.

What to Eat

🍜 Russian bread ($1) · Harbin sausage ($2) · Guobaorou (crispy sweet pork, $5) · Jiaozi dumplings ($3) · Harbin Beer (China's oldest brewery, $1)
