Factory visit checklist
- Send product specs, target price and volumes before the visit so the factory prepares the right people and samples.
- Bring or sign an NDA if you will share drawings.
- Agree quality criteria in writing: tolerances, materials, packaging, inspection method.
- Ask to see the production line and QC records, not only the showroom; note certificates and their scope and expiry.
- Photograph samples with labels; agree sample cost and lead time before you leave.
- Bring business cards and carry your passport: some sites register visitors.
Questions
Can Americans visit Chinese factories without a visa?
Yes, if the trip qualifies for 240-hour visa-free transit: business meetings and visits are allowed, but you need a confirmed onward ticket to a third country or region and must stay in the 24 permitted provinces. Otherwise apply for an M (business) visa, which normally needs an invitation letter from a Chinese company.
When is the Canton Fair?
The 140th session (autumn 2026) ran in three phases: October 15–19, October 23–27 and October 31–November 4, 2026, at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Pazhou, Guangzhou. Spring 2027 dates had not been announced when we checked on October 27, 2026.
Can ChinaWithEase arrange factory visits?
Yes. Our China-based travel company contacts Chinese companies to arrange visits and can issue an invitation letter for your business visa application. Tell us the products, cities and dates.
How many factories can I visit in a day?
Plan on two visits a day in the same city, or one if they are far apart. Leave time for travel, a proper look at production and quality control, and follow-up meetings.
